LIL KIESHA STRAIGHT OUTTA THE UK

PPAMG: WHERE ARE YOU ORIGINALLY FROM

Lil’ Kiesha: I’m originally from Jamaica, but I moved to the UK when I was 15 years old

PPMAG: HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE YOUR MUSIC?

Lil Kiesha: I would describe my music as a mixture of Hip Hop and R&B with a little blend of my Jamaican accent.

PPMAG: HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE CONCEPT FOR THE SONG FALSETTO?

Lil Kiesha: The concept really came from the pre-chorus of the originally song which I kept on the version I did. I wanted to make it seem as if I was the girl he was talking about and as if we were talking to each other. In the pre-chorus he says ‘talking all that sh*t, soon as I hit, now I got her talking like this…’ and in my verses I was talking the sh*t hahahaha.

PPMAG: WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS IN THE FUTURE FOR YOUR MUSIC CAREER?

Lil Kiesha: My goal is to inspire women and make them see themselves as someone who is valuable and also for them to know their worth. I want them to start respecting themselves again and stop referring to themselves as b***** and H***. I believe that most women are ok with being referred to as these degrading terms because almost every artist including females calls themselves that. I hear the reasons why they refer to themselves as that but not all women agree with it so I’m representing for the ladies who aren’t putting up with it and also for the others who do refer to themselves as that to one day say ‘You know what I’m not a b**** or a H**’ you would never hear me referring to myself as one of those, although I believe some women are.

PPMAG: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL YOUR FANS AND SUPPORTERS?

Lil Kiesha: I would like to tell them to continue to show their love and support, because it’s very much appreciated. Also, look out for my album ‘The Scorpion’s Intensity’, the ‘Intensify’ calendar and the official Lil’ Kiesha website. I got a few other things coming but as soon as those are finalized then you will be updated.

PPMAG: WHATS THE CLIMATE IN THE UK LIKE FOR STARVING ARTIST AND RECORDING COMPANIES? IS THERE A LOT OF COMPAINIES THERE TO DISTRIBUTE MUSIC NATIONWIDE OR WORLDWIDE?

Lil Kiesha: My opinion…the climate isn’t very good for the artist, especially for the hip hop artist. It’s like the media is fighting it, but you still got a few that’s striving to keep it alive. But yeah I believe there are a few companies that are distributing the music but with everything becoming digital, it’s easier to access music via the internet.

PPMAG: YOU LOOK YOUNG DO YOU MIND TELLING YOUR AGE?

Lil Kiesha: HAHAHA, I’m 21 I will be hitting the 22 mark in October.

PPMAG: WHO INFLUENCED YOUR MUSIC STYLE COMING UP?

Lil Kiesha: Different artist from different musical background influence my music. You got Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, Lady Saw, Mr. Vegas from the Bashment side and I‘m talking about from back in the days as for the new comers I’m loving Vybz Kartel. Hip Hop you got, P.Diddy, Biggie Smalls, Lil’ Kim, Missy, Salt and Peppa, and now Ludacris I think he is lyrically sick, as for R&B we have Total, Destiny’s Child, man I got a few.

PPMAG: WHO PRODUCED THE SONG ADDICTION? THAT TRACK IS HOT!!!!

Lil Kiesha: Thank you, I’m glad you like the song. The song was produced by another female hip hop artist from the states, her name is Rasheeda. My boy DJ Lexus sent me the track and was like he wanted to hear what I can do on the track. I’m not a big fan of Jay Z so when I heard him on the track I was like ‘hmmm, ok’, but when I heard the beat I was like ‘I’m in love’ hahahaha and now I know every word he spits on the song.

PPMAG: WELL THANK YOU FOR THE INTERVIEW. WE APPRECIATE YOUR TIME AND WISH YOU WELL ON YOUR CAREER. ANY SHOUT OUTS TO ANYONE OUT THERE????

Lil Kiesha: Thank you for doing the interview with me and I appreciate that. I just want to shout out everyone who is continuously showing their love and support, I really appreciate every one of you. Lil Kiesha - Born in Kingston Jamaica raised in Portmore St Catherine, has been influenced by hip hop music since the age of 10 and from since has been writing, performing and perfecting her skills as a developing music artist.

Being of Jamaican origin, Lil' Kiesha very much loves and embraces her culture and music, but also grew to love and embrace the American hip hop music culture. However, to truly represent who she is and what she loves, through her music; Kiesha will ever so occasionally mix and blend her Jamaican flavour with her American flow which gives her, her edgy, unique and captivating style which leaves the listening ear loving and anticipating her next lyrical content.

As well as to being a seriously hectic raptress, Kiesha believes her performing skills has to be as good as her vocal skills in order to give the full effect of her well put together image. Although she has been gracing stages with her presence since the age of 13, 2006 was the year she decided to put 100% focus and concentration into her music. Through hard work and persistence Lil' Kiesha has been gracing more stages and continously developing her stage presence.

That year also saw her in her second music video 'History in the Making', which featured other artists on the Seriously Hectic roster, which was blazing Nationwide/Europe music channels such as Channel U and MTV Base.
