HOUSTON—To date, an estimated 150,000 people have been found dead and millions more have been displaced after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Haiti. Now, people all over the world have been joining the rush to locate the dead, save those buried under rubble and feed those that are just trying to survive.
Spear- headed by Realtor Leslie Hall and Pete Merritt, owner of Realty Associates, more than 2,000 realtors are joining together to donate non-perishable food items and basic medicine supplies to help the victims in Haiti.
This group of local realtors, who normally specialize in helping others find homes, are pooling together their resources to help those miles away. Realtor Leslie Hall, in association with Realty Associates ,has organized a massive donation drive to help the victims in Haiti. While they are unable to help with the search and recovery efforts in Haiti from home, she and the other realtors are doing all they can to assist in the relief.
The public is free to join in their fight and donate items through January 27. Each of the seven Realty Associates offices throughout Houston and surrounding areas have been set up as designated drop-off spots, including the main office located at 9525 Katy Freeway, suite 142.
